by Jakob Ferdinand SCHREIBER publisher (1809-1867) "Der Schuhmacher" (the shoemaker) Original lithograph from the collection entitled "30 Werkstätten von Handwerkern. Nebst ihren hauptsächlichsten Werkzeugen und Fabrikaten ”published in Esslingen by Jakob Ferdinand Schreiber around 1844, generally composed of thirty lithographic plates printed in black and then hand-colored in the publisher's laboratories. Beautiful specimen with irregular margins, with the remains of the binding strap and its central vertical fold, burnished and with small stains, traces of dirt and touches as well as a tiny hole in the central part but overall in a good state of conservation. The Schreiber Publishing House was founded in 1831 and had considerable success in the production of children's books and printed information material, its editorial heritage has been preserved in a museum located in the city of Esslingen. Bibliography: Borst "Ein Stück Deutscher Kulturgeschichte - dem Verlag JFSchreiber zum einhundertfünfzigsten Geburtstag" Esslingen 1981.
